Westchester Avenue Bridge
Siefert Associates, LLC has been providing support services to Judlau Contracting, Inc. on the Rehabilitation of Westchester Avenue Bridge over the Hutchinson River Parkway. Judlau has taken on the challenge of reconstructing the Westchester Avenue Bridge, which supports an active railroad [RR] viaduct. A robust temporary structure was designed by AECOM to support the dead and live load of the RR viaduct during the reconstruction. SALLC was responsible for the engineering behind jacking the RR viaduct off of the Westchester Avenue Bridge and onto the temporary structure. Once jacked, the contractor cut the viaduct columns allowing them to continue rehab on the bridge below.
