Kew Gardens Interchange
In October of 2020, Halmar International removed the existing KC Ramp deck superstructure, as part of the Kew Gardens Interchange rehabilitation in Queens, NY. The existing ramp, a super-elevated, curved structure, consisting of 9 simply support spans, rises above a large intersection between the Grand Central Parkway, Jackie Robinson Parkway, and Union Turnpike, adjacent to the Van Wyck Expressway. Siefert Associates provided demolition plans for Halmar to safely remove the existing concrete deck, and supporting concrete piers, while minimizing disturbances to traffic below.
