Haverhill I-495 Bridge Replacement
Siefert Associates, LLC (SALLC) has been providing erection engineering services for SPS New England Inc. during the bridge replacement project over the Merrimack River in Haverhill, MA. SALLC has provided a variety of services thus far including the design of temporary support beams to assist in the erection of the new girders for Stage 3 of construction. The support beams were designed to take the vertical and lateral construction loads as well as maintaining the stability of the system. EFCO brackets were also provided to resist the imposed reactions from the support beams. The use of this system was very efficient as it allowed the contractor to utilize the exiting pier as a temporary support instead of having to drive piles and build shoring towers.
