LaGuardia Airport – Center Roadways

In July of 2020, Skanska-Walsh J.V. erected the first of several pre-stressed concrete bulb tee girders used during construction of the new LaGuardia Airport. Siefert Associates provided unique engineering plans for the erection of the girders, which span under a previously launched temporary bridge. The erection plans included the use of a crane and a pair of hydraulic gantries working in tandem to ensure the girders were placed correctly in their final location.
