LIRR Expansion Project

Siefert Associates, LLC recently submitted plans to 3rd Track Constructors JV consisting of an engineered crane plan for setting precast units during the Cherry Lane bridge replacement project in Long Island, NY. The precast track panels and approach slabs as seen in the photo below were some of the units that were included in the crane pan. The approach slabs were the heaviest of the units, weighing over 25 kips and were set with the Liebheer LTM 1090-4.1 hydraulic crane. All precast units had to be set in place in a time sensitive manner before the SPMT move of the new bridge took place. The bridge replacement was completed in one weekend with train service being restored for the Monday commute.
