LaGuardia Airport in Queens, New York

This month, Skanska Walsh JV installed a pair of utility trays beneath an existing truss bridge at LaGuardia Airport in Queens, New York. The utility trays, weighing 49.0k and 64.0k, were built off-site and transported approximately 3 miles using 6-lines of THP Goldhofer. The utility trays were set atop a moment frame on the Goldhofer deck that was designed by Siefert Associates, LLC. Once delivered to site, the utility trays were picked and set with a Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 by using a lift plan prepared by Siefert Associates. The rigging design, which called for a primary and secondary set of rigging on the hook, allowed the utility trays to be set beneath the existing truss bridge with zero headroom clearance.
