MNRR Bridge Over Atlantic Street in Stamford, CT

Halmar International has started the erection of temporary jump spans at the MNRR Bridge Over Atlantic Street in Stamford, CT. Siefert Associates, LLC has provided working drawings of the jump span erection with the options of using either a Palfinger PK45000C mounted to a Western Star truck on high-rail gear, or a tandem pick with Mantiou MRT2150 telescopic handlers.

The erection is undertaken with many site constraints including the catenary wires centered 17’-0” above each track, the limited access to track foul and closure times, and the additional factors of safety associates with working on or near railroads.

The jump spans are supported by temporary shoring and span over 23’-0”. After the installation of the jump spans, the construction of the abutments for the proposed bridge can commence while undisrupted train traffic passes overhead.

Pictured below is the existing MNRR Bridge over Atlantic Street prior to erection operations, and the Palfinger PK45000C mounted to a Western Star truck near the area of operation.
